Marriage Ministry

We at Bridge Church believe in marriage as God defined it in Scripture.

Genesis 2:24 states, “That is why a man leaves his father and mother and is united to his wife, and they become one flesh.” Matthew 19:4-6 states, “Haven’t you read,” he replied, “that at the beginning the Creator made them male and female, and said, ‘For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh? So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore, what God has joined together, let no one separate.”

We also understand that life is hard and brings many seasons and challenges that can pull on the fabric of a marriage. The enemy can use these challenges to create distance and separation between a husband and wife. John 10:10a states “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy…” The enemy would love nothing more than to tear a marriage apart that results in a ripple effect of collateral damage to children, grandchildren, churches and workplaces.

God desires that we have life and not just a mediocre life but life abundantly. John 10:10b “I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.” This life abundantly includes our marriages. God is the creator of marriage, so why not learn how to do marriage God’s way?

Bridge Church offers the re|engage curriculum that presents us with many tools that we can immediately apply to our marriage and continue to use as our marriage grows. This is a 16 week course that is offered in the Fall and Spring semester. We meet on Tuesday evenings from 6:30-8pm at the church and childcare will be provided. Since space is limited, you must register in advance. Re|engage is not just for marriages that are in crisis, but also for marriages that are doing well. All marriages in all stages would benefit from attending a semester of re|engage.
